L I K E   A   F O O L  :

Eine krude Mischung aus Religions- und Medienkritik... sowie George Orwells 1984... Paranoia halt... (jetzt bin ich paranoider Para...)

like a fool

you told me i would go up to heaven
if i live my life well
you told me i would go up to heaven
("or else...") - or i'd go down to hell

and like a fool i believed you
when you told me what to do
and like a fool i believed you
oh, when you told me what to do

you tell me i should be so happy
but i'm swimming deep in guilt
you tell me i should be so happy
but i'm swimming - i'm swimming deep in guilt

you tell me everything is good
if it's done under the cross
do what you're told and just have faith
just have faith in the boss

faith in the government
faith in the law
faith in god and men
faith in them all

and like a fool i believed you
and i let you teach me still
and like a fool i've been trusting you
without my own will

with our eyes hidden…
with our eyes hidden…

i wanna drown my conciousness...
i wanna drown my conciousness...

the tv told me i would go up to heaven
if i lived my life well - ("better be dead than red!")
the tv told me i would go up to heaven
if i do my duties well - ("buy 'till you die!")

and like a fool i believe in everything - (like a sheep)
if it tells me what to think - (with our eyes hidden)
and like a fool i'm believing everything - (justice!)
if it tells me what to think
without my own will - without my own will
i believe it still
i believe you, still
without my own will

T-ACHE God on the Ladder - Retrospective 91 - 97, Album Cover, excerpt, like a fool, lyrics print
